Tip: Each day you may find that the first time you select a file/folder you have to do this twice; thereafter only once. To avoid this there are 2 options:

1. You simply register the downloaded file as an add-in :- with any workbook open, press and release ALT, then T, then I. Use "Browse" to locate the file (you may need to change the default file-type to 'All Files'), and when it then appears in the list make sure the checkbox is checked/ticked. Click OK and you're done.
2. Put the downloaded file into the Excel start-up folder (different for different versions of Windows and Excel, but it may be called XLStart or you can choose a location under Excel Options (Advanced on left and under section General for Excel 2007 or later).

For new users, the software will run on an evaluation basis, which means that you can use it for as long as you wish but you can only use the first 3 items on each drop-down.

No need to uninstall your current version - simply close Excel, download as above and overwrite your existing copy.

Then you will need to register the software as an add-in.

To do this you will first need to remove the old version (if it was called patft.xla) as follows, or if you have not previously used the software go straight in at stage 3:

1. Close Excel.
2. Delete the old version called patft.xla - if you can't remember where you installed it you will need to search in Explorer.
    
3. Open Excel.
4. Press and release ALT, then T, then I.
5. (Optional - If you see patft in the list you can click on it and choose to delete it when prompted.)
6. Click on 'Browse' and find the file you downloaded above (you may need to change the file selection to 'All Files' to see it).
7. Click OK to close that window.

If you have a licensed copy then you should download into the same folder as the previous version, otherwise you may need to re-enter your licensing details and may lose any saved settings.
